This website is for enthusiasts of Boksburg history and heritage — people who want to swap stories of times gone by, remembering the places, people and events that have shaped Boksburg and the lives of those who lived here. The Boksburg Historical Association is dedicated to collecting and preserving as much historical and heritage information as possible before it is lost. It’s a sad fact that valuable memories and memorabilia, created before 1950, are fast disappearing. We need to hurry to preserve them while we still can.
If that sounds like your kind of thing, please come and join us. Members of the Association meet on the first Saturday of every month, except January, at the Alan Woodrow Park Retirement Village in Boksburg, gathering from 14h00 for a 14h30 start. Each meeting opens with a round of historical news members may have come across in the past month, followed by a speaker or activity, with tea afterwards. Visitors are always welcome — come along to a meeting, or drop us an email if you’d like to know more.
